Preflight tool resizing stamps

Oct 23, 2013 3:34 PM

I am using the preflight tool to flatten some stamps that have been added and resized, but whenever the tool runs it resized the stamps back to their default size.  How do I retain their size after flattening?  I am using 10.0.

    An easy way is to use the flattenPages() JavaScript method in the interactive JavaScript console (Ctrl+J). Just enter this line of code:

    flattenPages();

    and with the cursor on that line, press Ctrl+Enter, or the Enter key on the numeric keypad.

    If you have to do this a lot, consider using this free JavaScript-based tool: http://www.uvsar.com/projects/acrobat/flattener/

    What happens if you execute that line of JavaScript in the console instead?

    I don't get the same type of thing with Acrobat 9 or 11. You mentioned you're using 10.0, so you might consider updating to the latest (10.1.8) to see if it makes a difference.

    I have 10.1.8.  When I run the line

    flattenPages();

    I get "undefined" back.  What's up with that.

    It means the code ended without errors, and didn't return any values. In

    other words, it worked.

    That's normal and is an indication that it worked.
