Help making perspective style text.

Oct 24, 2013 6:24 PM

Hey guys I'm trying to recreate the stickers on the side of my boat the old ones look terrible.

These are what I'm trying to make. At first I didn't think it would be to hard but I can't figure out how to get the text to scale like that. I tried the perspective tool and a couple of others but nothing comes close.

This is what I have managed so far:

See how the B in the original is really big and the T is really small I'm having trouble recreating that. While I'm asking questions does anyone know the correct way to make the border around the text easily?

If anyone with more knowledge has any advice I'm sure it would save me hours of trial and error and I would be very grateful.

Select the text and choose Effects > 3D > Rotate. Play with the values of rotation around Y axis and Perspective, keep the other values with zero.

    1. Write Text
    2. Convert to a symbo (to retain editability for the next steps)
    3. Open perspective grid
    4. Attach it to the perspective grid

Details how to do in detail look into the manual, there are several shortcuts.
