font substitution/ "adobe sans mm" font

Oct 25, 2013 10:53 AM

I am running the 10.6 version od the mac os x system. Whenever I am exporting a file and the font (avenir) is not embedded, the font automatically changes to "adobe sans mm". The font looks quite beautiful and I would like to use it actively for desing work, yet a quick search on the internet revealed that the font is no longer available from adobe. Is there any way to obtain a copy from the original file?

I think the font is a modified (and stretched or condensed) version of either Myriad or Minion.

It may simply be that the font is available on your system, but is not licensed for embedding. In that case, you would need to contact the developer of the font to see if you can get a copy that can be embedded. Also, try a different job settings file (like the Press or Print sets) that trys to embed ALL fonts.
