I just downloaded CS6 (trial version), I opened a file played around a bit, closed file (did not save changes) I then attempt to reopen the file (or other ones) and the view has changed, I no longer see the wave display and can't figure out how to get it back. The file is there and I can play it, I just can't see the sound waves.

    Hi Kathy,

I'm just guessing here, but take a look at the tabs in the top left corner of the Audition UI and see if one of them gives you the view you're looking for.

What are you seeing in the main playback window?

You may have inadvertantly closed the Editor panel, which displays the sound waveforms or the multitrack timeline.  You can open it by selecting Window > Editor in the menu bar.

If things ever get too mixed up in the UI, you can always restore it to the default by clicking the Workspace dropdown box in the upper-right corner, and selecting Reset Default...
