Overprints showing in a pdf proof.

Nov 6, 2013 7:59 AM

How can I save a pdf with overprint preview showing?  I need to show my client exactly how the printed product will look. How can I acheive this in a pdf format? I have Illustator CS5.1 & CS6.

Hard to say without seeing the file.  I would think you'd be able to create the color manually in a copy of the orginal file.

That is a preference you need to turn on in Acorbat, set overptint preview: always. There is nto way to save taht in a .pdf, has to be turned on manully.

I have not found a way to put a script or action inside a .pdf so it will change that for you. You can make the first page of your .pdf an instruction page showing the screenshot on where to turn on overprint preview.

In Adobe Reader XI there are the same Overprint Preview preferences as in Acrobat Pro (including "Always") …
