Error when attempting to update DPS folio in Content Viewer

Nov 8, 2013 1:36 PM

Tags: #error #dps #update #content_viewer

Long story short, out of nowhere I can't update a folio in my iPad Content Viewer app.

I get the error message:

Error During Download

Please try your download again later.

This never happened before, everything has been going smooth until now. Please see screenshots below.

Any ideas, Adobe?

This problem is still happening. I have multiple imported two different folios today and cannot download either in the Content Viewer. This is getting very frustrating as I have multiple deadlines to make.

Are there any new solutions to this problem?

    Hi Bob,

I've looked at your link and it looks to be resolved however I'm still getting this issues with all of my documents have an Error During Download? Is this just a US site regarding the status or across the whole Adobe Comunity?

    thanks

    Rich

I too am experiencing this problem. This is absolutely outrageous. I have been set back two full working days and have deadlines I will not be able to make because of this.

What is being done to solve this problem?

I've got a really tight deadline which is fast approcahing to.

I've got to justify this to my boss, and was trying to get him to give the green light to sign up 35 peope to CC membership - I cant see him doing that if this is the level of service he'll get

Updating Folios in InDesign does work but some of the articles need numerous "Try Again"s

Back to the Content Viewer: it looks like it is updating folios; it goes all the way to the end then stops and gives the Error Message.

Steve, there's no question that this is an inconvenience but it has

nothing to do with Creative Cloud. DPS is a separate and distinct service.

...and yes, problems uploading articles in indesign as well. "try again's" all the time and no way to "cancel" this. the "cancel" button just disappears when the upload doesn't work. so i have to close indesign and restart it. great workflows right now! i look back to those beta-days of dps when everything was possible offline via itunes - good old days and no hassles with adobe servers that don't work...

I'm having the same problem here. Unable to download the updated folio in the content viewer.

Is there any update on the subject. Everything seems ok on the Dps Status page?

The services have now been changed back to functioning properly, but nothing has changed for me in the Content Viewer. I still cannot download a folio.

Same here. DPS status states that services are operating normally when they clearly are not. Suddenly I can't download any articles that I've recently updated and then just a few minutes ago found that I can't even update an article. It builds the article and starts to upload and then just hangs, forcing me to quit InDesign, since there is no "cancel" button as alexhuldi pointed out in an earlier post.

Im still having the issue as well.  Kinda frustrating that it says everything is functioning properly with no errors when there clearly are!

All okay for me now. Have those of you still experiencing issues tried

signing out and back in? Rebooting iPad?

Been down all day, London UK time. It's now 17.15 and have people waiting to see content - going to miss deadlines – very poor all round and not good enough at all.

I remembered a workaround from a few years ago when a similar problem existed, so I thought I'd give it a try –– First, I removed the folio from my iPad so I could start the download from scratch. Then, as soon as the first article starts to download I quickly go to "stack" view and then the viewer app will download a few articles. But then it pauses. But if I scroll back to a previous article with my finger (still in "stack" view) it will begin downloading a few pages again, then pauses again. As soon as I tap the screen and scroll back one article, it begins downloading again. At least with this method of "babying" it along I can hopefully meet my deadline. Hopefully the service will get fixed by the time I have to share the folio for review by the editorial and advertising teams.

That status says there area no problems with Content viewer for web - thus peoples frustration.

Content Viewer for Web is not the Adobe Content Viewer used on devices. It is our service for handling shared folio content and for viewing folios on websites, and is up and running.

The status page is correctly showing issues with our production servers, which impacts the Adobe Content Viewer and preview workflows on the device. Until those items flip to green you will still see problems previewing content on the device.
