I'm getting super frustrated with InDesign CC. I am running Windows 8. It opens but won't let me do anything. It just crashes. I downloaded and installed the plug-in from a couple of months ago that I found online that was suppose to fix it. Nada. I have deadlines that I need to get done.
This is an ongoing issue. Why hasn't Adobe fixed it by now?
The cloud app isn't always reliable, judging by other posts here. Can you keep ID open long enough to open the help menu and press the Ctrl key while choosing About InDesign? You can read the full version number in the upper left of the detailed dialog.
One of the posts I had found pertaining to this problem suggested moving the installed fonts to a different folder. Font names with special characters were supposedly part of the problem. Did this didn't work.
Yes I tried a different user account. Didn't work.
I suggest uninstalling, running the cleaner tool (CS Cleaner Tool for installation problems | CCM, CS6, CS5.5, CS5, CS4, CS3) and resintalling from a clean boot (How to perform a clean boot to troubleshoot a problem in Windows 8, Windows 7, or Windows Vista)
