Scanning with Photoshop Elements 12

Nov 17, 2013 2:00 PM

I recently updgaded from Elements 9 to Elements 12, but the Import pick is greyed out in the File menue in 12. I can still scan in 9 and my everything  has been upgraded for OSX 10.9 (Mavericks). Where  exactly should the Twain plug in reside to make it work?

Ask over there.  We don't do Elements here.  Few users here are even superficially familiar with that stripped down, emasculated software.

Barbara is the ultimate Elements guru.  If she can't help you, no one else can.

Blimey Station.  Your dis of Lightroom was pretty cutting last week, but you really knocked PSE into touch!     From a photography point of view, I understand PSE is pretty good, and _amazing_ value for money compared to PS, but like you say, I don't know the forst thing about PSE or LR, except I wouldn't give them disk space.

First of all, have you deleted all the prefs since upgrading to Mavericks? Even for PSE 9, although it may seem okay at the moment? Have you restarted the computer since moving, and are you sure you have the latest driver for your scanner?

You will  want to  go to your username>library>preferences and delete

    com.adobe.PhotoshopElements.plist

    Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 Paths

    Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 settings

Directions for finding that library are here:

Also go to the Saved Application State folder in the library and delete anything related to PSE.

Also restart the computer. You often need to do that after moving the importmodules folder to make PSE see it.

If you go to Preview.app, can you scan there?
