How do you find the amount of RAM that is available to be used by a mobile app? It seems that system.freeMemory, system.totalMemory, system.privateMemory can only tell how much memory an app has used. What if you need to be able to know how much memory is available to the app, so as to be able to turn certain features on and off. Is there a way to do this?
I have no idea how to do this, but I do think it's presumpteous on your part that that any free memory is there for your use.
Mobile devices may have multiple apps running and your app should be using the minimum possible memory, rather than the available memory.
Is your app a particular memory hog?
