How do I create a site name for a website I already maintain?

Dec 5, 2013 1:06 PM

I created my website in Adobe GoLive.  I converted it to Adobe Dreamweaver years ago.  My site name is website.ste.  I recently upgraded to Dreamweaver CC.  Dreamweaver "can't find a valid editor for this file extension."  Can I create a site name for the webpages I maintain?  I want to be able to check links across the entire site.

The site file from GL is not compatible with DW.

You can create a new site definition from existing content for DW by going to...

    Site > New Site

    Give the site a name

For "Local root folder" browse to the folder containing all of your site files.

You'll need to add your FTP info manually.

    Hello,

did you try to import your ste file via "Sites > Manage Site" (translated from my German DW) "by hand"?

Site definnition files have the  .ste extension.  You can't open these files directly in any version of DW.  You can only import them from the Site > New Sites panel.
