I have Indesign CC 64-bit, on a Dell XPS18. I upgraded(?) to Windows 8.1.
Since then the Indesign screens show at a lower res than other windows - that's menus and everything, not just the page content.
Any help appreciated.
Upgraded from what? Windows 8, which is what I did with no problems at
all or Windows 7 which a disaster waiting to happen?
From Windows 8
Are you running your monitor at it's native resolution and does the
video card support it?
Yes and yes, I believe so.
The photo I attached perhaps wasn't clear - other windows displaying side-by-side are fine: it isn't the monitor. Prior to the update the Indesign window was crystal clear.
Sorry Ed but I don't see anything all that bad in the picture.
I also upgraded to 8.1 with no issues. What's your screen resolution? Are you positive is the same as it was before the update?
The size and quality of what I can upload is restricted. But the difference between windows is disturbing enough for me to ask the question. Thanks anyway.
It really isn't the screen resolution or the monitor -other windows visible at the same time aren't fuzzy.
I see what you mean. Have you tried the basics: restart, replace your preferences?
several reboots since. I just replaced preferrences - no change.
I lined up two windows to get a better image.
I also tried CS6 and it looks fuzzy too.
Do you have large fonts enabled in Windows?
That led me to the solution - thanks! I followed the Compatability Troubleshooter and checked the Disable display scaling on high DPI settings.
Great news, thanks for letting us know. It may come in handy for others.
