Can you provide details on what version of Acrobat, operating system, and Office 2013 version you're running? Is the PDFMaker add-on enabled?

WORD 2013 on your system requires at least AA 11.0.01 to support this functionality. PDF Maker has to be active in WORD 2013 to create PDFs by opening a DOCX file in Acrobat. If fact, that might be worth a try with just one file, rather than the combine feature as a test.

Are you able to create PDFs from the Acrobat Ribbon in Word?

Can you create a PDF from an individual WORD file from within Acrobat?

Have you tried running Repair Acrobat installation from under the Help menu?
