Need to re-encode prores 422 out of Premiere to cut in Avid.. Which Codec is best?

Dec 12, 2013 11:57 PM

Sooo long story short I was sent video for a project needing to be cut in Avid however the framerate turned out to be variable (VHS footage capture) and Avid can't get the sound in sync. Premiere plays these clips fine BTW, props to Adobe.

So i need to re encode these files to work in Avid and I am wondering which codec and settgins to go with. It's 4:3 footage up rezd to 1920x1440. I tested out some exports and they work fine in Avid. However I only have enough HD space to hold about a straight 1:1 file size copy of these clips. I do have the Avid DnxHD codecs installed but they don't seem to have anything fitting for 4:3 footage at 29.97.

Any help appreciated.
