When I try to adjust a photo using the Clone Stamp tool, the crosshairs appear on the photo but when I press Alt to lock the position it doesn't do that.  Yet when I use the blur tool on another part of the photo it works fine.  Help..?

After you press the Alt key to define the source for the clone stamp and try to use the clone stamp, does it look like the whole image is moving?

If so, check your clone source options in the tool options bar with the clone stamp selected and try unchecking Show Overlay or checking Clipped.

I'd reset the clone stamp tool by clicking on the small black downturned arrow and clicking on Reset Tool.

If that doesn't work, then reset the photoshop elements preferences by holding down the Shift+Ctrl+Alt keys just after starting the launch of the photoshop elements 8 editor.

Keep holding down the keys until you get a dialog asking if you want to delete the adobe photoshop elements settings file.

    Press Yes because you do
