I'm working on putting multiple images on an artboard to create a catalogue of sorts. I need all the pictures to be roughly the same size. i was wondering if there was a way to create an action where i can create a set of boxes, where i want each picture to go in, and then just drag the picture to the box and have it automatically scale down/up. Meaning i want to contain the action to each individual box. Is this possible to do? Also i'm using photoshop 7, if this effects the situation
If you just want to layout images tiled the same size you can use my PasteImageRoll Photoshop script from my Phtoshop Photo Collage Toolkit.
Paste Image Roll Script
If you want more control over the layout you can create templates and use the scripts in my Photo Collage Toolkit to populate them.
Photo Collage Toolkit UPDATED Made Rotate for Best Fit an option in PasteImageRoll.jsx Edit to customize your default settings.
Photoshop scripting is powerful and I believe this package demonstrates this.
The package includes four simple rules to follow when making Photo Collage Template PSD files so they will be compatible with my Photoshop scripts.
There are twelve scripts in this package they provide the following functions:
If I charged for it I would track its use. As it is I have had little feedback. A few change request. A few bug reports mostly cause by changes in Photoshop versions. A few thanks. One praise. And two request for help for it was too complex for a novice.
I feel its easy to use but perhaps it takes some of the fun out of making collages. Then Collages are not something everyone does.
That package is something I did to learn a bit about scripting Photoshop. I wanted to do something that was complex and useful to some. It just kept growing. PasteImageRoll grow out of a question someone asked in the scripting forum about automating several image on a canvas. In given them an answers I found it would be quite easy and actually very useful for some that had a printer that supported Roll paper. I have such a printer an old Epson 4800..
