Hi

Used Elements 10 and could open Lumix DMC-FZ200 RAW files but now upgraded to Elements 12 and file is not supported. Have been to updates and have the latest but cannot see the plug-in for RAW files.

Disappointing I have wasted time on this so hope someone can help

Merry Christmas

You must have converted the files to dng to use in pse 10?

Anyway adobe says at least camera raw 7.2 is needed for those files:

    http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/camera-raw-plug-supported-cam eras.html

    Pse 12 should open them.

What operating system are you using?

If in the pse 12 editor you go to Help>About Plug-in, do you see camera raw listed and if you click on the word camera raw, what version does it say?

(mac pse 12 would be Photoshop Elements Editor>About Plug-in>Camera Raw)

I would uninstall and reinstall PSE12.

    Hi,

When in the editor and you select Help -> About plig-in, does it look anything like this - are the other plug-ins there?

You might try updating using the manual process, here, using what you extract from the ACR 8.3 CC setup.zip found at the following #notconnected link:

    http://blogs.adobe.com/crawlspace/2011/03/keeping-photoshop-up-to-date .html#notconnected

Instructions for installing manually, just change your source for the plug-in to the setup.zip and the version of Elements to 12:

Also, check to see if a camera raw plugin is actually installed by going to:

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\Elements 12\File Formats (64 bit windows 8.1)

    or

    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\Elements 12\File Formats (32 bit windows 8.1)

and see if there is a Camera Raw.8bi in the folder.

That could be, since the instructions were based on a camera-raw updater made specifically for PSE, while the setup.zip you downloaded had both 32-bit and 64-bit plug-ins for Photoshop.
