Best PSE version?

Dec 26, 2013 9:31 AM

I upgraded from PSE 3 to 4. I don't like 4. Which newer version is the most user friendly?

The latest version 12 has "Easy" and Guided " Edit modes.

You will find all the recent versions quite a change from PSE 3, I'm afraid, and there will be a bit of a learning curve till you get used to all the new tools and features.

What gives you a terrible time in PSE 4? If it's the organizer, you'll find that's even more tightly integrated into newer versions, but you don't have to use it if you don't want to.

If this is a newer computer you might as well get PSE 12 and get used to it. You don't mention which version of OS X, but PSE 4 stopped working a loooooong time ago in any current version of OS X, back around 10.5 if it was already installed, I think. You couldn't reinstall after 10.4.

PSE 9 will work in 10.9. I would suggest getting used to that before trying a later version--they're even more different than PSE 9 is. Yes, there are many videos, books, and online tutorials for recent versions of PSE.
