I have installed DW CS6 on my PC (Windows 7, Internet Explorer 64 bit) and have also invested in the Adobe "Classroom in a Book CS6" book. I installed the DVD that came with the book and began with lesson 1. However, the first screen on lesson 1 appears without any DW toolbars at all, making it impossible to navigate in any way through the tutorial. Is this a compatibility/security problem with Microsoft? I've tried turning off pop-up blocker etc etc but am getting nowhere. Any ideas?

It's not clear what you mean by the first screen on lesson 1. If you can't see the default toolbars in Dreamweaver, open the Workspace menu, and select Reset Designer:

There is no compatibility problem with Windows 7 64 bit. Dreamweaver works just fine on both Windows and Mac.
