Does it matter if I have an english version of Indesign and the other a German version, when transferring files, if we both have the same version of Indesign?
I haven't tried it - I need to purchase a Mac version of Adobe CS. I have a PC version in English, am working in Switzerland now though, where everyone uses German. So was wondering if I need to purchase a German version, or would an english one work just as well. I know that in Microsoft works, it doesn't matter at all, would think it would be the same. If the system and files etc are all the same. For me, to work in english is still a bit easier... if it's just language, then it's not a problem. what would you think?
No, it does not matter. I work in the IT department of a French press group, all our graphic designers work with a French version and we receive very often files that have been set up originally with German or English versions and we never encountered a single problem.
