I have set my mic up in the control pannel, also in the edit preferences. All seems ok.
I start the slider where I want to start recording, ok.
I click on the record and then add narration. all ok.
Checked the mic icon top right and my mic i/p is ticked.
Press the red record button and start to record all seem ok the counter counts and the leavel indicator moves.
I cick to stop recording.
The recording is entered on the right disply screen.
But it does not have any of the narration and it does not show in the narration timeline.
I have had it working but have tried many ways since without any luck.
I can record by using the mic the the windows accessories so mic works.
First, check out my free tutorial on properly configuring your microphone for narration recording in Premiere Elements.
Then note that you may need to unplug your USB microphone in order to hear your recorded narration playback.
I have got a little further with my problem.
It all works fine when I load the Mpg file, then I can add the narration.
But I edited the original and added a title page at the front of the video, now I can't add the narration, it works upto where I said in the above.
So it is something I have done while I have added the Title, but I can't find what I have done wrong and how to correct it.
A screen shot is below I hope
I am not sure if any of the following is involved in your situation, but please take a look at my blog post
and see if any of it applies to you workflow.
When I did the narration it put a wav file in the Project/Media panel, but with no sound in it and the time duration showed as 0.
The narration did not appear in the time line.
So I removed it.
I have recorded a narration again as per screenshot, also included in shot is the record box. still no sound recorded but the level indicator responds?
Hope this helps to solve my error
Well, this is what happens when we move onto another issue without resolving the first.
First you need to get the program configured so that you see your audio registered in the VU on the Narration panel. And I show you how to do that in the tutorial I linked you to above.
I have downloaded your video, and as stated above they are set the same as your video shows, and I have just checked again and they are correct.
When I record the level meter in the small narration box shown above varies up & down as I speek into the mic. screeshot 3
Hope this is what you wanted to see
But nothing shows in timeline, and although the recording looks like it is being stored it does not seem to
