Upgrading to Lr5 from Lr4.4

I'm the proud owner of Lightroom 4.4, and just recently, purchased the Lightroom 5 upgrade. However, the Lightroom 5 upgrade does not recognize the serial number registration from my Lightroom 4.4. All that's displayed is a red X next to the the serial number input, and I cannot advance to the next screen. What can I do to finish registering Lightroom 5?
