optimization recommendations

Feb 3, 2014 2:03 PM

Hi All,

What's best for  optimum SWF performance?

I have a series of 11, 20 second animated loops (created in After Effects and exported as FLVs with alpha). I want to make sure the final SWF that uses all these FLV animations, performs well even on low end systems. Should I:

-Link to the animations externally (ie: FLVs link to FLVPlayback components that are put within child movie clips)...

-or embed the FLVs in the SWF and play in the main timeline?

What would result in best performance...or is there a difference between the 2 approaches?

Thanks much.

load the external flv files by assigning the source property of your flvplayback component.

it will result in improved fidelity of the flv, better audio/video sync and quicker loading of the fla.  otherwise, performance is dependent on the flv's bitrate and the user's download rate.
