I am running a MacBook With OS X 10.7.2 with PhotoShop CS5 Extended.
Today I found this error message as soon as photoshop opened:
"An unexpected and unrecoverable problem has occurred. Photoshop will now exit."
This happens as soon as the toolbar shows.
I don't know where to find a crash report, can you tell me please?
That won't have a crash report, because it isn't a crash. If there was a crash, you would get a crash report dialog.
That sort of error usually comes from a corrupt installation, a corrupt OS install, disk errors, or other major problems.
Why are you on 10.7.2 instead of 10.7.5? (Apple fixed a lot of bugs in those dot releases)
I don't think they are going to bother to let us update to 10.7.5 is Mavericks is already out, and apparently even THAT is causing problems with some of the newer school macs.
They have said that we MIGHT be able to update sometime later in the year.
Is there anything I could do other than updating my OS?
You can try resetting Photoshop's preferences.
Beyond that, it would mean repairing the disk, or reinstalling Photoshop and the OS (and patching it!).
They really, really need to update the OS (and I have no idea how they justify keeping something old and unpatched, while I bet they patch Windows every month...).
