Automatic discount without entering coupon code

Is there anyway to setup that discount should take affect without entering a discount code?

Not really following you, that does not make much sense.

You mean when certain conditions are met a discount is automatically applied?

Possible in BC but its custom work and quite hi end, BC does not do this by default.

I want to setup a discount for $40 and above, when the cart reaches that number it should automatically apply a discount without entering a code. How will this work?

You would have have the code and that hidden away somewhere you can fetch with javascript and if the cart amount is above x value, render that and run the BC function that triggers the discount application.

This is not straight forward though and you do need to know BC very well.

Is that possible do the on the product page or just on the order review page? The reason why i want it on the product page is that the costumer should see his discount taking affect while adding thing to the cart.
