I would like to import vector graphics from an Adobe Illustrator file (*.ai) to my program. which is a engineering program (CAD) with 2D technical drawing module. Does Adobe provide any SDK to achieve this?
The only reference I've seen on this topic on the net are suggestions to export the Illustrator file to DWG and import that. Not acceptable.
And some mention that the *.ai file format is similar to *.pdf and it should be possible to simply rename the ai to pdf and read the file as a pdf. But this requires a PDF importer...which I also do not have.
Any pointers would be appreciated.
