JMC stops the Admin Server service

Hello,
We are using jrun 3.1 on a 2003 server. in the services window you start the jrun admin server service. it starts up just fine, but when you go and try to launch the jrun management console you get a page cannot be displayed. when you go check the service it has automatically stopped.

i read somewhere when another person had the same problem and it was caused by the serial number being in lowercase and changing it to uppercase fixed it. but i checked the serial and it is all in uppercase.

another idea someone mentioned is that some file got changed to binary instead of being in ascii? i don't know if its true or not.

but if anyone has any ideas i would appreciate your input.
