So I'm a designer, I've been using dreamweaver for a long
time, it works great, I love it. So I have a client that I want to
set up with contribute, and I've never used it myself so I figured
I'd try it out.
I went to my own website, enabled contribute for the site in
dreamweaver, and connected successfully to the site within
contribute. I can load a page, and click the "edit" button to make
changes. So I make a change, and then it was my understanding that
you click the publish button to upload the change back to the
server and you're set.
Oh, but wait, I get this message:
"You can't perform this action on this draft. The draft is
invalid because a lock has been broken and another instance might
have already acted on the draft. Contribute will remove this
invalid draft from your machine."
WTF????
So then I click OK, and a save dialog box comes up which will
save the web page to my hard drive.
So then I have the edit button again. Let's say I click the
edit button, I get this message,
"Another Instance of Contribute is doing a workflow
operation. Do you want to break the workflow lock and continue?
Doing so might cause draft corruption if another isntance is still
performing the workflow action."
No clue what this means.
Please help, I just want this to work!
