I rebooted after reinstall of Flash, and here is the error message I got when I tried to get on www.buzzword.com:
Error: Error #2134: Cannot create SharedObject.

at flash.events::EventDispatcher/dispatchEventFunction()

at mx.core::UIComponent/dispatchEvent()

Also, when I try to go to "Share" on acrobat.com, I get "Acrobat is closed, try again later". Is this possible?
Thanks!
Hello,
I'm so sorry you're having trouble. Someone here has seen this before when Flash is corrupted during the installation. We recommend that you try to uninstall and reinstall Flash one more time.
Here is where you can find instructions on how to accomplish the uninstall:
http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=tn_14157&sli ceId=1
Please respond and let us know if this doesn't help.
Best,
Michelle
I did the uninstall/reinstall step yesterday twice after reading this forum. I did it again just now, following your link to uninstall, etc. It still does not work, the screen is blank and I cannot get to Buzzword from the share or create a pdf screen. It is so strange. I can get on it at home, no problem.
Anyway, please advise what I should do next.
Thanks for your help!
If it's a problem that you're having exclusively at work, it maybe an issue with your company's security policies. Please have a look at this thread:
http://forums.adobe.com/thread/415200?tstart=0
Can you contact your IT department and find out if it could be a proxy issue?
Still waiting to hear on this!
Here is the reason I need Buzzword. Perhaps you have another idea!
I use Acrobat to convert a Word file to pdf. However, it does not convert line-for-line, and makes some things (like headers) appear goofy. Since this is for a big proposal I am doing, I really need the pdf to be perfect. Someone on this forum said I needed to upload my proposal to Buzzword and then make a pdf. Is there another way????
Thanks for any help you can give me. This proposal is due Tuesday and I am scrambling!
Hi - sorry to hear you are running into this issue.
Can you please provide the details about your machine so we can compare with the other reports of this problem - thanks.
Operating system?
Browser(s)?
Flash Player version
Have you tried with another browser on this machine?
After uninstall/reinstall do you continue to get the debug exception about the local object?
Considering that you are scrambling - I suggest you use your home machine to try importing the file into Buzzword and exporting to PDF to see the result. If Acrobat is having problems with the header conversion, Buzzword may have similar issues.
Are you able to manually modify the headers in Acrobat after conversion?
Cannot reply to any of the posts as my 'blank screen' arrives in a different manner and only happens with certain files.
Machine IBM Intellistation MPro 6218 running MS Windows XP v 3 2 Go mem.
Buzzword used for translations and teaching and it has been working well, by well I mean within the limits imposed by my knowledge of Acrobat and my requirements.
Recently, I scanned (Canon Pixma) a sheet of text and saved it as 'tiff'.
This was then run through with Omnipage SE 4 (included with the scanner software) and after adjustments it was saved to MS WORD 2007 in rtf format.
When importing to buzzword it failed to open , hence title 'blank screen',.
Re-imported after changing the format to DOCX but the same result.
Scanned a new and different page and carried out the same actions all to no avail.
I can import .doc format letters as sent to me by e-mail.
As it is a probability that scanning and converting will form a large part of my work in the future can you please help as my first expenditure will be for an upgrade of OmniPage - and that is a costly item.
Thanks for any ideas
Hi,
Thanks for letting us know you are running into an issue importing a .RTF file into Buzzword.
It's definitely a different issue from the others in this thread.
When you try to import, do you get a popup error message that says the import failed or does a blank editor open?
If possible, can you please create a test file that demonstrates the issue and attach it to this forum thread so I can test it out and reproduce the issue in-house - thanks.
and Hello to you,
Thanks for the quick reply.
No pop-up message but when I tried it this morning the page was blank but
ready for typing.
I also have this as a MS file DOCX and that gives me the same result.
I have checked and added an ADD-IN for WORD 2007 for OmniPage but that I
have not used as yet.
How do I create a test file?
All I can do is transfer the page from WORD to buzzword and send you the
result by buzzword. or does the forum thread have something for this?
Ready to comply but please spell it out so that I can follow it blindly! !
sincerely
Archie
Hey Archie,
Please send me both the .rft and .docx files that you are trying to import (I said test file so you could remove any potentially confidential info)
When you click "reply" in this forum thread there is a "Browse" button below that let's you attach files.
Then I can test importing into Buzzword using your files and see if we can determine what the problem is - thanks.
Archie,
It doesn't look like any files were attached - can you please just email them directly to buzzword_feedback@adobe.com and I'll grab them from there - thanks.
Hello,
Something seems to be awry ! to say the least !
I have checked my mail out box ans all is correct with the correct files.
I will try sending them again.
I cannot see any way to reply to your mail via the forum and I can find
nothing at the bottom , or elsewhere, that allows me to contact you or
attach anything.
It is, in all probability, staring me in the face but a long search and
trying different touches still does not work.
I hope we make contact
Archie
I'm getting the infamous grey screen as well.
Running Mac OS X 10.5.7
Safari 4
Up to date latest Flash player.
A friend of mine who invited me to try this out is running on the same specs with no problem. I'm the only one she knows of who can't get it to work.
On a lark, I installed the debug version of the Flash player linked to here and it spat back this.

Sorry to hear you are running into this odd blank screen behavior.
The error you posted is the one common symptom that we have seen for users running into this - so you are not alone, but unfortunately we don't yet have a known solution. In most all cases the problem resolves itself. That being said let's try a few things to see if we can get you up and running w/ Buzzword.
Do you by chance have Firefox 3 or 3.5 installed that you can test with to see if that browser works?
Can you please try right clicking on the blank page and select settings in the flash player context menu. Then click on the little folder icon at the bottom center and let me know what the Local Storage value is set to - it should be 100 KB by default.
Please remove me from this thread, I do not want to receive emails of the correspondence. You never fixed my problem, never got back to me with any type of help at all. The problem never "resolved" itself. I hate to sound cranky, but the help people here never help and this is THE most clumsy, backward, waste-of-time help center I have ever seen. It does not speak well for Adobe products. Perhaps this is their way of driving people to pay for their help service.
In any case, remove me from the correspondence please. Ignorance is bliss.
jsilvaportland - I'm terribly sorry for your rotten experience. In reviewing the thread, it looks like we didn't hear back from you after p watson's post on April 28th? If you're willing to give us another chance, please give us the requested information and we'll be very glad to continue to try to resolve the problem. If not, you can remove yourself from the thread by using the "Stop Email Notifications" option under "Actions" after signing in to the forums.
Again, I'm very sorry we were unable to resolve this to your satisfaction.
