Help Printing--Wants Output File

May 20, 2008 11:37 AM

Hi, When I go to print, I get the same normal print menu to print to my default printer, and then when I press OK, another menu comes up entiteld: Print to File. It then says: Output File Name: and then has where you need to type in the file name. If I cancel, then it won't print. If I write a name in, it then another box called: Progress, and bars quickly appear and finish. Where it goes, I have no idea, but not to my printer. How can I get rid of this? Thank you so much.

I am having the same issue and have tried everything, I think it is a registry problem but I don't know.

I did figure it out, you have to deselect the check box in the printer menu that says "print to file" it is near the bottom left of the dialogue box. Let me know if you need more help.

I'm having the same problem and this doesn't fix it. I've tried both with the Print to file checked and not checked! Any other suggestions?

Check the port of the Adobe PDF printer and be sure it is set to PDF Port (or something like that) and not File. If you print with the print-to-file selected and open that file in Distiller to get a PDF, do you find success? If so, then check that AcroTray is running in the background.
