Apart from one Website, I cannot hear any volume when trying
to stream on-line, using the previous and now the latest Flash 9
Player. I've looked in the Registry and "smacm32.drv" was already
listed. Nevertheless, I deleted it and made a new string and
re-entered it. I've allowed for ActiveX and DirectX on Internet
Explorer. I've changed the Privacy and Security settings on IE7.
I've also uninstalled and re-installed the Flash 9 Player four
times. Nothing seems to work. However, when I tried to stream a
programme on the ITV Televison Website in the UK, I received a
message to click on a link to rectify the problem. I can now see
and listen to their programmes. How is it that nobody else can
solve the problem? Good as that is, I cannot hear anything on any
other Websites. Wondering why that was, I noticed that when I right
clicked on the speaker Icon area in flash 9, the "settings" option
was greyed out - but only on the ITV Website. They've obviously
found there is a problem with the settings and have disabled that
Option. Microsoft tell me it's an Adobe problem and to contact YOU,
and Adobe seems to think it's a Microsoft problem. Nothing new
there then!! Does anybody out there know the solution, that a not
too technical person as me can attempt to carry out? Could some
genius out there create a "fix" for we very frustrated Windows XP
SR2 users?
