Lynda.com Training or Total Training???

Jan 18, 2009 9:18 AM

Both Lynda.com and Total Training offer online training for Adobe products. I'm not sure which one is a better buy though. I purchased the Total Training DVDs and I think they're great, but have not had experience with Lynda.com training. So, before I spend the money, I would like your feedback. Have any of you used Lynda.com and Total Training online training? If so, which one do you recommend and why?

Linda.com was a bonus on one of the Adobe products I bought. I was very satisfied with the training, which was quite clear, easy to follow, and taught someone with 15+ years experience some new tricks.

I don't know what the training costs, but I think it would be of at least $100 value for what I got.

Both have great training. I can highly recommend the training on Lynda.com. Usually the first few videos on a topic are free to watch. It's worth trying a few out on a topic you're interested in.

Lately I have been learning a lot from http://www.tutvid.com. Not the depth of Linda.com, but it is free and worth a look.

I tried TT but found Lynda.com to be better. I liked the style of the presenters better overall. Lynda has a nice monthly option, too.

Total Training Includes Project files and shoots footage in HD so it's clear and you have more control of clips with bookmarks etc..

I have tried Lynda.com, but found them to be less informative and less extensive than Total Training so after purchasing DVD's for CS3 Design Premium, and going through all of the lessons; I subscribed to Total Training online, for one year. I liked it so much I renewed my subscription when it ran out. I paid less than $250 for the first year, buying my subscription when it was on sale, and just got my renewal for $137.49 (a savings of $112.50) for a whole year of ALL Adobe access. That's a bargain. I use it and learn constantly. I am even using CS4 trial and CS4 training, and now have decided to save up to buy Design Premium CS4; because I want to use the new features I've learned about, in just a few days' brief exposure.
