simplified chinese language

Jan 11, 2008 7:17 AM

When I go to open a particular pdf file, I get this message:
The Simplified Chinese Language Support Package is required to display this page properly.
Click OK to install this component.

Anyone know why this is happening?

Because the PDF uses Chinese fonts.

Well, you'd have to open the document, take out all the Chinese fonts, then save the PDF.

You'll have to install the language pack first.

Though it's not clear that Acrobat offers any way to just "get rid of"
    Chinese fonts in a file.

True. If you can't replace the type with a roman font, for whatever reason, you'll still be stuck.
