The comment about 500 users, is because you can also use Acrobat to Reader Extend a form if the form is going to be used by less than 500 users.
I'm a bit confused by this message and not sure why I've received.
Looking for all the information, the Reader Extension can be
accomplished using Live Cycle? What is the alternative, I'm working on
a Mac with OS 10.3.9?
I had been having the same problem and thanks to all of the good responses from everyone, I got mine to work by changing the Email Button to just a plain Button and adding the email address of my choice to it and changing the XML option to PDF.
This is also nice because now if there is a change in personel, all I have to do is change the email address tied to the Button.
I too am attempting to create a PDF file that can be emailed. When I go to the Object Pallete, the only tab that I have is the Field tab. I do not have a submit tab that is open under the Object Pallete. Is there a setting or something that I am missing. I am using Adobe LiveCycle 8.0 to create the form. Any help that could give would be greatly appreciated.
When you say click on submit instead of regular, I am not sure what you are referencing. Here is all the information that I have in my field tab.

Ok, I see.
On the top drop down, change it from Email Submit Button to Button, then set it up from there.
Under the Submit tab that will appear, change XML to PDF and put in the person's email address that you wish it to go to.
Hope this helps.
I was able to finally get the submit button to come up by choosing
button as type and then clicking on submit in the control type.
Then the submit tab appeared and the only thing that I found was that the for was going to be sent to a URL, not an email address.
Got it to work by changing the xml source
type from xml to pdf. Then opening the file
in Acrobat to "Extend the services". The
only issue I have now is how to allow MAC
user's to submit the form. I had a MAC user
tell me that when they click on the SUBMIT
button nothing happens. Is there something
special in the code that will allow them to
submit the form?
