Local Adjustment Brush Disappears

I have LR2.2 running on XP-SP3 on HP Pavilion PC. The Local Adjustment Brush (LAB)circle on screen will often partially to completely disappear as I enlarge the brush. It starts out OK (concentric circles) then as I make it larger it looks like only the upper left one-quarter of the brush is visible and will completely disappear if I make it too large. The only remedy seems to be to quit LR and restart the computer. It usually works then but the next time I start LR I have the same problem.
Anyone know if this is a bug or do I need to do something in the settings...
Thanks,
Don

I see the same problem, and it only happens when PhotoshopCS4 is open concurrently with LR2.2. I see this behavior on two different machines (notebook and desktop, running WinXP Pro SP2). LR2.2 and PS CS4, patched up to date, were freshly installed on both machines.

Re: Local Adjustment Brush Disappears
I seem to have made some progress by reading the following post:

http://www.adobeforums.com/webx/.59b604fb/0

Tweaking the hardware acceleration setting, to turn it off, fixed the problem. I then turned it back on, and the problem is still gone. So it maybe that some confusion in the Windows registry was causing this behavior.

Re: Local Adjustment Brush Disappears
Upgrading the Nvidia video driver to the latest available rev corrected this problem on my desktop machine. I should mention that both the notebook and the desktop machines have Nvidia graphics chipsets, and where experiencing this very problem until the work I did today to address it.

PROBLEM SOLVED!

Press "H" to unhid the pins.  I had the same problem and did all the things suggested here like updating drivers and turning down hardware acceleration, but none of those worked for me.  Then I saw in another forum the "H" was the hotkey to hide/unhide the local adjustment brush pins.

Re: Local Adjustment Brush Disappears

I don't know if this post is still monitered but I'm having the exact same problem with Photoshop CS4 Extended, (dissappearing brush). It seems to come and go. Also I tried the "H" key and all that got me was the hand tool. So if anyone has any more input I would welcome more suggestions. I took a screenshot of an image that demonstrates the issue and attempted to attach it to this post.

Re: Local Adjustment Brush Disappears

this post is actually about Lightroom, not Photoshop.

However, I think I've had the same issue with photoshop that you've been describing, where I couldn't see the bounds of the size of the brush anymore and i was guessing as I kept working.  Usually it comes back after I restart photoshop or my computer.

maybe it's a memory thing?
