Deactivate Lightroom serial?

Apr 28, 2008 4:48 AM

How can I deactivate my lightroom serial so that others may use it?
Or is it not necessary?

No deactivation necessary. The stuff used in CS3 and CS2 is not used by Lightroom.

I guess I was thinking that there is something inherently wrong with allowing "others" to use your license. You mean you would give your license to another person and then no longer use it yourself.

I just went through this as a purchaser. I picked up a legitimate boxed copy for $125. Adobe has a License Transfer Form that the seller and buyer fill out and fax in to Adobe. The seller has to call Adobe customer service and get a case number, then both the buyer and seller have to complete their parts of the form. The transfer takes 4-5 weeks, but in the meantime the purchaser can still install the program and complete the registration information and use the program. They just can't get support from Adobe until they are the licensed owner of record with Adobe.
