shaped edge

Can you tell me how I can shape the edge of a shape, say a heart shaped photo. I would like the edges to roll downward at the outer edges, just as a large badge looks when you look at it, but maintain the picture underneath the finish.

    Try refine edges after makign a selection of edge with selection tool and then modify changes after clicking Refine Edges button in options bar. You can try layer styles/adjustment layers also.

    Not sure about the effect that you are looking for. Is it a soft edge as seen here, or a drop shadow, or something else?

    Like this? It's pretty much just smoke and mirrors. The illusion is created with a bit of shine along with a dash of displacement mapping. If this is the effect you want, I can post a run down of how I did this.
