The lion looks Chinese. Wait till the Antiques Road Show comes to town and get it valued.

The embroidering is incredibly fine & subtle.... either a very talented person made it or a good machine! I think the style looks chinese too.

One of those embroidered paintings was valued at about £600 on a recent BBC Roadshow.

    :o!

(I'm not surprised, given the workmanship!)

Ah! That explains the Google graphic yesterday; I had thought maybe it was Magritte's birthday.... I'm mildly surprised Google decided to mark it though. (I like Magritte; his paintings are witty, intellectually engaging, and full of mystery.)

Very nice.... a lot of selecting went into that! ;) Makes me want to do something similar for Winnipeg.

This is architechture, not 'art' per se, but this very distinctive Roman Catholic church ("Précieux-Sang") is about two blocks from where I live:

How very odd (just noticed the double post :") ; here'd I'd been thinking our little church was famous or something! ;) ): when I tried a moment ago to go in and edit the duplicate away, it told me I didn't have access, then after I clicked the obligatory "OK" it flipped me to the Adoobie main page. Going to try again....

Pooh. Must've just been on the cusp of the 30 minute limit when I hit the edit button! Still don't know how the double post got there.

you know it! :) I think i have some pix laying around that i can play with that with.

next project though is to place "puppy" at the north pole with a reindeer. monica lost her toy puppy again about a week ago. we told her he was probably with santa again. (couple years ago she lost him right before christmas, i made a pic w/santa, and paz saw and painted it!) so when she lost it again so close to christmas and we found it, well... :)

here's the original santa puppy, and paz' wonderful watercolor version (a scan of a real hand painted christmas card!)

the water color is big. clicky:

I remember seeing that middle one, or similar, that you uploaded a coupla years ago. Great, beautiful watercolors! Did you use Painter with PS, or just Painter, or just PS?

    It's like trans-global satellite interviews

"So, Mr Chou, can you tell us what it was like to see his face fall off?"

    (long pause)

"Yes, Sven, it was horrible and yet gratifying, in a way."

Oops, it's all photoshop, but I used a stock water colour painter overlay I made ages ago with runs and texture to get the water thing happening in the middle one.

Paz sure has quite the talent.

She sent me a Christmas card a while back with a painting of my boat from a photo I had posted.

Needless to say I was very impressed.
