I forget which forums I've posted this to before, and who's seen them, but I just uploaded two albums onto my Picasa space that I had previously hosted on my Comcast space. I took them both down a while back when Comcast was having some trouble.
Both are from a street festival here in Lancaster, August of 2006.
First is my friend Steve Jewett and his girlfriend Jeannie playing sitar and tamboura, respectively. Steve was always a monster guitar player, the kind of guy I 'hated' in high school because he got so damned good, so damned fast. He's been playing sitar since the 70s but has been really concentrating on it more than guitar in the past 15 years.
The second set is of some friends who comprise a reggae band called First Trumpet. The real story here is how I first met these guys...it's pretty crazy. I'll link to that story on my Sparkbox space, then you can click through to the gallery on Picasa.
Rachel's showing off her missing teeth here. I took several shots with no success, so she ended up having to look like she was snarling to show off the space!

<br />I hope the second big tooth in front has enough room to come in :-/

His name is Jeremiah (*sings*"was a bullfrog!*)! Jeremiah, mommy, daddy and big brother nicholas (age 8) live with us now. Jeremiah is like a week old (*MMMM NEW BABY SMELL*!) I hope I can play doting auntie and share many pics with y'all!
I just got back from a two week vacation from work (where we moved my bro, sis and family into our house). I finally finished playing secretary and am back at my boring clerk position. C'est la vie! So once I get my card reader back from who knows who, Ill be able to share share and share summore! :D
so, we live in a eclectic artist type neighborhood kinda like venice, california but quieter, some are rich, some are poor, some are drug addicts,...all types. tonight the police made an arrest, I shot these from our balcony:
dave, you must live in a nice neighborhood with no crime -- count your blessings! no really, you are very fortunate.
I live in a nice neighborhood with a lot of crime -- it's l.a.
the photographs are long exposures, 30 seconds, of the los angeles police department, harbor division, helicopter helping with an arrest, we live on a hill so we have a view of everything that goes down in the harbor and eastern southern california .
the lapd helicopters fly around our neighborhood
all the time. a few years back the sheriffs were using unmanned aerial vehicles to patrol the harbor but they discontinued.

The next aspiring Bob Dylan? Not bloody likely!!! Just me with my first guitar, an Epiphone 12-string. Only $150, but I wish I still had it. Had unbelievable action, especially for a 12-string. (Don't wish I still had the drapes...or the plaid pants. XD )

I took my son to Sam's Club with me today and he saw an electric guitar (a cheap Fender) and he was enamored with it. He even played a little tune for me on it. :D (of course, it was a bit rough on him, as one string was missing ... ;))
