I can't update my photoshop 7.0 to 7.0.1 why ??

I have photoshop 7.0 installed and it's new i didn't use it yet

now i have to update it to 7.0.1

each time i run the update installer it gives me this message:

The adobe photoshop 7.0.1 update program cannot find Adobe photoshop 7.0 in
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop 7.0\

please locate Adobe photoshop 7.0 again or cancel the update and install adobe photoshop 7.0 from the original disks or CD

I also located it manullay but again got same message

what should i do ??

gimme the steps plz

    You'll need to call Adobe. Make sure you have your serial number and/or
    proof of purchase.

    Maybe it can't find version 7 because its already version 7.0.1

    have you checked that?

    Is it legal? Where do you get a "new" Photoshop 7 these days?

    That error often comes up on pirated versions of PS 7.

    I think there was a problem with the installer where the .exe name differed from the name the updater was looking for.

    No. It was definitely about piracy.

    The updater was designed to look for known pirated serial numbers.
