How do I protect my email address?

By default, when you first sign into the Forums an account is created for you and your email address is set to private (only seen by you and by administrators).

To confirm this, look at your account settings in the Forums:

1. Go to http://forums.adobe.com
2. Make sure you are signed in (your name appears in the upper right corner of the page)
3. Click on your name to go to your profile page
4. Click on Edit forums profile and privacy in the Actions panel on the right
5. Click on the Privacy Settings tab
6. Look for the Email address field in the first column and make sure that it is set to "Yourself"
   Other choices here are Everyone, Registered Users, and Friends (not implemented here).
   
   

I can see my email address in my profile!

This is normal. Other users will not be able to see your address unless you have changed your forum privacy settings (see above). You can confirm this for yourself by logging out of the forums and then looking at any of your messages or visiting your profile page while not signed in.

My email address shows up in my messages!

If this is happening, it usually means that you replied to a message via email and you have your email program set to include a signature that includes your email adddress. Please adjusts your email settings to not include the signature information. If you accidentally included your personal information please post a message in the Forum Comments forum asking for an administrator to remove the information.

How do I change my email address?

The Adobe Forums do not store your email address. Your email address is part of your Adobe ID from Adobe.com. To change your email address you have to edit your account at Adobe.com.

1. Go to http://www.adobe.com
2. Click on Sign In in the upper right corner if you are not already signed in there
3. Sign in with your Adobe ID
4. Hold your mouse cursor over Welcome, (your name) in the upper right corner of the page
5. Click on My Information in the drop down list
6. Scroll down to the My Adobe ID section
7. Change the email address listed as your Adobe ID
8. Click on Save My Changes

This will change the email address on your Adobe account. Please remember to sign in with the new email address the next time you visit the forums.
