Required: Media for Adobe CS3 Design Standard (Windows) Volume License

May 6, 2009 7:20 AM

I have volume licenses for CS3 Design Standard but no media kit for Windows, unfortunately. All attempts at finding this or buying it have failed. I've spoken direct to Adobe and the official solution is to upgrade to CS4! Which really isn't helpful. I've tried upgrading from the trial version of Design Std but that doesn't work.

Is there anyone out there with a volume license media kit for CS3 Design Standard on Windows willing to upload it somewhere so I can download it? I'm sure his goes against the EULA for the media kit but the ridiculous thing is I do have the valid volume licenses so it's not like you'd be helping some sort of software pirate!

If anyone can help I would be very grateful.

Normally, if you purchase a volume license from Adobe, you do get media for those licenses. Are you claiming that you have the media for Macintosh but not Windows Did you license both platforms or only one?

Assuming that you did license for Windows and your software is licensed, Adobe Customer Support (not Technical Support) should be able to get you that media. If the first person you speak to gives you the nonsensical answer you report, ask for a supervisor. If that doesn't work, contact me off-line.

Note that it is not legal for some other customer to upload this for you.

As I said, try again but insist on speaking to a supervisor or a supervisor's supervisor, get names, etc. The media certainly is available. Contact me off-line if the supervisor approach doesn't work!

    Hi James,

Just solved the same problem: My original reseller was able to provide our company with a download version of the required media.

    Good luck,

    Ruben

    I have the same problem.

I have a legit Adobe CS3 Design Standard (Windows) Volume License serial number, but no software to install it with.

I also downloaded a trial, and this didn't work.

I really need the discs for this, is anyone able to assist, as I've contact Customer Services and have been told, this is no longer on the sever to access.

    Help.

Yes I have, I downloaded the trial version, but this is based on the Retail package, not the ESD Volume License install, which unfortuantly does't work with a Volume License Code.

    thanks

I am having the same issue with CS3 Design Standard.  Our company only bought the Mac media but now I need to install on a Window pc. Our Certificate has both Mac and Windows licenses.  I have spoken with activation, volume licensing, and volume sales.  No one is able to provide a software download.  Has the clock run out on this?

    Try http://prodesigntools.com/download-adobe-cs4-and-cs3-free-trials-here. html.

Read the instructions very carefully. Trial media is the same as regular media.

I'm afraid that retail & trial copies don't work the the VL license codes.

    So I found out anyway.

I'm a bit confused...I saw your note above about not working with volume license keys, but I disregarded it out of optimism because it doesn't match my experience.

For our volume licenses, we get our our downloads via ESD (since CS3), and I was under the strong impression they were the same as the trial media (I believe the filenames and download URLs are actually the same?), but I guess I have not verified.

I wonder if the more likely case is that your volume license code is invalid or has a typo or something? On the other hand, you guys seem to have two data points (Martin and James) to my one marginal one ("strong impression"), so there's that. And I guess my experience with this is Macintosh based but it should not be platform-specific.

    Still.

I guess another possibility is to make sure that you're downloading the Design Standard installer instead of the installer for the individual products or perhaps the wrong suite package? I dunno.

I remain skeptical, but I realize there's not a lot of data to back up my skepticism.

It appears the link above no longer works for older versions.  When you make a selection you are redirected to the new 5.5 versions.

It appears you did not follow the careful directions under Note: Very Important where you must cancel and initiate a download for a current product, such as Photoshop CS5.1, before you can begin the CS3 trial download. I tested it and it works for me.

When all else fails read the directions. I'm able to get the CS3 link to work now.  However I may still have a problem with my volume license and this trial version working together.

Dov, I've called to get some help and I was told my option was a $700 upgrade for something I don't want or need - all over a group of 24 numbers.  I own CS3 Design Standard mac and want to get the media for PC - found the trials and got them downloaded now my serial numbers won't work. Any thoughts?

Do you have a volume license for multiple machines that includes Windows?  Our company has a volume (multi user) license that included Mac and Windows.  However they only purchased the Mac installation media. I was able to borrow a copy of CS3 Design Standard Volume installation for Windows and then my serial worked.
