RoboHelp 6 vs. RoboHelp 8 MS Word & browser compatibility?

May 13, 2009 2:06 PM

I'm currently working on a project in RH 6 and our department upgraded to MS Word 2007 - now I can't use the printed documention feature to generate a Word of pdf document. Do I need to revert back to an older Word version or would it be better to upgrade to RH 8? If upgrading to RH 8, is there a concern of end-users using older browser versions (e.g., IE 5)? Any input would be appreciated!

Hi RightOar and welcome to the RH community.

As you have found out, Word 2007 is only supported in RH8. You can either reinstall Word 2003 and leave yourself with RH6 or upgrade your RH licence. Just be aware that if you reinstall Word 2003 you will have to reinstall RH6 as well. As far as RH8 and browsers are concerned, it supported IE6 and above.

As a user who still lives in the medieval age of RHX5 I've been reminded that Word 2007 is supported from RH7 onwards, not just RH8.
