The user had 6.0 pro when you click on print or print setup adobe freezes for 3-4 min then it would come up and print. I did (I thought I did) a complete uninstall and installed 9.0 pro but the problem still exsists. Thanks for any responses.

Since you provide zero computer information, here's a guess
What often causes this problem is having a network printer set as the default
Solution is to set the default printer to a local one, even a phantom local
This may be accomplished by using an Adobe Generic Printer Driver

Processor model and speed... amount of ram... brand/model of the printer being used plus the driver version... what else running via system startup all come to mind

pdates, Acrobat Standard 9 latest updates, lots of ram, etc. Never a problem before w/Acrobat freezing when I
select it as a printer. I suspect this is adobe issue despite your requests
for specs on the computer.
You might try emptying the TEMP folder and giving a try. From what is mentioned, it would appear you are printing to the Adobe PDF printer. If not, try that rather than using PDF Maker.
What version of your applications software? (like WORD 2007 or such)
I have this problem too and it seems to be getting worse. It started when I updated Adobe a year ago. Now when I print the first pdf of the day, it freezes the whole computer. It is a standalone computer and printer, no networking (that I know of). W7, 64 bit. Acrobat 9. Thanks
