Hi,
I've got a test account with BrowserLab and also updated my Extention Manager to 2.1. I can install the first mxp file no problem but the second one won't install and comes up with the error below. Can anyone give me any idea how to fix it? I'm using a macbook pro and am on Snow Leopard.
Thanks
Wheelz
Hello Wheelz,
Thanks for your patience. Unfortunately I don't have a solution for you, but our engineering team is aware of and working on this issue in Mac OS 10.6 (Snow Leopard).
The Known Issues section of the BrowserLab FAQ recommends against installing the BrowserLab extensions for Dreamweaver in Snow Leopard:
"The BrowserLab extensions for Dreamweaver have not been fully tested on prerelease builds of Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard). We don't at this time recommend installing the BrowserLab extensions into Dreamweaver CS4 on OS X 10.6."
I'll update this thread with more information when it comes available.
Best regards,
Corey
Thanks for keeping us updated on this issue.
Hello Kieran,
Our engineering team has released an update that will enable you to install the BrowserLab extensions for Dreamweaver CS4 with Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard). Instructions for installing the CSI 1.0.2 patch have been added to the BrowserLab FAQ (http://labs.adobe.com/wiki/index.php/BrowserLab#Adobe_BrowserLab_-_Kno wn_Issues) and I have pasted them below as well.
To use the BrowserLab extensions for Dreamweaver CS4 with Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard):
If you are installing BrowserLab extensions on Snow Leopard for the first time:
If you received an error message while trying to install the second BrowserLab extension with Snow Leopard:
Please let me know if you need further assistance.
Best regards,
Corey
I have the same issue. Steps given by Corey do not help. I've also seen the thread at http://forums.adobe.com/thread/539639?tstart=0 and tried steps there but no luck.
Hello dublin.nomad,
Did you install CSI 1.0.2 (http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4568)? The error message you're receiving indicates that CSI 1.0.2 is not installed.
Best regards,
Corey

If you received an error message while trying to install the second BrowserLab extension with Snow Leopard:
- Stop the “CS4ServiceManager” process (In your Activity Monitor, quit the process called CS4ServiceManager)
- Rename ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CS4ServiceManager to ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CS4ServiceManager_bkp
- Reinstall the second BrowserLab extension
Please let me know if you need further assistance.
Corey,
I have a newer iMac, with MacOSX 10.6.2. I followed all the steps explained in your solution, then tried to install the 2nd BrowserLab Extension, but I'm still getting the same error message:
Additionally I tried uninstalling the first part, reinstalled it, then tried to install the second part, but this proved unsuccessful.
These installation problems don't really seem worth my time as long as the online version of BrowserLabs is still running, but I would like know when this issue is resolved.
I just hope this didn't affect the functionality of my extension manager and all the extensions I already had installed.
Hope a solution is posted soon.
Hi RamenJedi,
It sounds like you don't have the CSI 1.0.2 update installed. The error you're receiving indicates this is the case, since the CSI 1.0.2 update specifically resolves this error message. Please try following the first part of the instructions:
Please let me know if this resolves the problem or if you still need assistance.
Best regards,
Corey
Thanks for the step by step instructions. I did run the update for CSI 1.0.2 patch and was still prompted by Extension Manager that "A new version of CSI is needed, Please install CSI greater than or equal to 1.0.1. I did this after install of the patch and renaming the CS4ServiceManager folder.
I am on OS X 10.6.3, any other suggestions you might have would be great.
Thanks!
