props, etc., breakdown

Sep 10, 2009 12:33 AM

There is ONE thing I've always wanted, and it seems rare to find, and impossible to find done well: highlight an item in a script and directly classifiy and import it as an item for the breakdown (e.g., highlight KILLER'S CAR at first appearance and import it into the breakdown at every appearance as VEHICLES.).

I notice you allow the use of hyperlinks, which seems promising; I like the idea of having a web page of the car photo and resource at the click of a mouse. Perhaps user programming and manipulation could turn the hyperlink feature into a breakdown item, but that seems very clunky and challenging.

    Hello,

Thanks for the idea! We are in the process of implementing the 'tagging' feature where the user can select a text and assign it tags. We would take the idea into consideration to further enhance the tagging functionality.

What a GREAT IDEA, Michael!! The implementation of that (with tagging) would be so promising!!! Keeping track of props is vital for things such as pre-fabrication of a prop ahead of time perhaps or for budgeting purposes.

Tagging is on the cards. You should be seeing this fairly soon in Story.
