Up to Illustrator CS2 X/Y coordinates where in whole number. As of CS3 they are up to 3 decimal places (sub-pixel). Is there any way to switch CS4 back to whole numbers?
Yes the "object coordinate" values. Select an object and the X/Y coordinates for the object is now listed in sub-pixel incements (3.014 px as opposed to 3 px as in CS2). Not a huge deal but I am doing a custom application where I need to place and/or read locations for a LOT of objects and it was easier in CS2 with whole numbers.
Thanks for your input.
Increments were dealt with in Edit>Preferences>General>Keyboard Increment. I am not sure whether it still is. You could change it there. If it is/was set to fit another unit, it will/would yield funny results.
Sorry to say no it did not work. The Keyboard increments Pref if to determine how many pixels,( pts, inches, etc) your selected object will move when using the arrow keys.
So I still can't get whole number (ONLY!) X/Y coordinates in Illustrator CS4. I can enter the whole number coordinates by hand and it's fine. The minute I drag and drop I get 322.224 type of integers.
