I've searched without success whether Photoshop CS2 will run with Snow Leopard.
I'm on an iMac 2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 3 GB installed memory.
Thanks for your input.
So far, I can't get past the registration in Photoshop CS2. Adobe tech support says it is NOT compatible and neither is GoLive CS2.
I just got GoLive in October 2007.
Upgrades are available for $199 each.
There must be a work-around..... I hope?
CS2 is not supported in Leopard so it certainly won't be supported in Snow Leopard. If you must use CS2 it would be recommended that you get an old PowerPC Mac.
I have run CS2 with Leopard for over a year and had no problem running CS2 with Snow Leopard.
I switched back from Snow Leopard to Leopard because of the font conflicts that Snow Leopard created.
I'm now running both CS2 and CS4 without any problems on Leopard.
I'm not sure, but this may have been because it was already installed.
Why are you just installing CS2 which about 2 years old?
You may want to post your question here:

You will have to register, but there is no obligation, fees etc.
The help is really great.
Choose your operating system and the category you feel best meets your question.
Thanks.
datsawman, last night I recalled that CS2 quit on 2 separate occasions during the 3 weeks I ran it with Snow Leopard.
The one time I remember was when I used the eye dropper to select a color.
Other then that it ran fine.
The only problem with an application quitting is that it may quit before you saved your last corrections.
If you don't wish to spend the money for the upgrade why not stick with Leopard.
You don't mention the age of your computer, is it an Intel or PC.
That should enter in your decision as to whether to upgrade or not.
The low upgrade price is normally offered every year just before the new Version is introduced.
Here's more on the subject.
Here's a clarification; My "old" Imac G5 had a faulty graphics card. The Mac Store said it would cost around $700 to repair. I updated to the new 3.06 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo. Most of the upgrade was painless and automatic using my Time Machine back-up. It took about 1-1/2 hours. Then I tried to use all my favorite programs. No problem with Quark, or any Mac programs. I couldn't get past the registration for Adobe GoLive CS2 or Adobe Photoshop CS2. The folks at Adobe wouldn't give me the authorization number I needed after over an hour on the phone the tech said Snow Leopard was not supported. finally got both to run by trashing their libraries. I don't know how well they run, but at least they run. Adobe help and Apple store should be aware of these potential issues.
I've got to say, this new machine is smokin fast surfin the internet! Runs pretty hot though....

Duane, nice to hear that your CS2 is working.
Your info is coming out a little at a time.
Did your computer come with Snow Leopard, if yes, you will not be
able to load Leopard unless you buy a retail copy.
However, if you don''t use the fonts that are affected then you can
stay the way you are.
I also use Quark.
I went back to Leopard because SL created conflicts with Helvetica,
Helvetica Neue, Futura and other fonts.
Out of 32 weights of Helvetica Neue, I could only use 10 weights.
I lost the use of all my condensed faces.
Snow Leopard creates conflicts with a number of fonts.

You should also do a search for SL font conflicts for additional info.
