Help! Can't open psd file

I've been working on a large file for a while. I've been using the same computer with CS2. Now, the same computer, won't open the file I've been working on. The file has never been worked on using a different computer or a different version of Photoshop. I get the message "Could not complete your request because the file is not compatible with this version of Photoshop". Any ideas how to fix this?

Also if the file is over 2GB in size it will not open. you will need to open a backup that has not gotten to that size. If the file is over 2GB save as PSB.

Thanks, the first link seems the closest to answering my question as it had the correct error message, but I do not have Norton Ant-virus so it doesn't apply.

 

The file is only about 700mb, so file size is not the issue.
