Windows 7 - Photoshop - Type Manager

Oct 22, 2009 6:48 PM

Just installed Windows 7.  Will I need Adobe Type Manager Light with Photoshop CS4 extended or is it not necessary with windows 7?

I notice that Adobe Type Manager Light is not Windows 7 compatible.  How are the fonts handled?

Thanks,

Gerry

Adobe Type Manager has been redundant for years, has not been updated since Windows 3.0, and is not really necessary.

If you feel the need for a type manager to organise your fonts, there are several third party programs available.

Windows hasn't needed ATM since Win 2000. Ever since then it supports PostScript fonts natively, which is all ATM was required for. If you need something to create groups and sort your collection, get Suitcase or something similar.

Not sure what's going on. I had a half-hour ouutage of the forums while typing a post, so they must be updating/ changing something. Haven't seen any announcements, though.
