Am I allowed to install CS4 on my Laptop, as well as my PC?

Oct 28, 2009 2:26 PM

I have CS4 installed on my PC, but I also want to install it on my Laptop.  Do I need a certain code that will enable me to install it on my Laptop?  If not, will I receive a message that will prevent me from loading CS4 onto the Laptop?

Also, I'd like to make a copy of the CD, in case the original gets damaged.  Is this allowed?

Regards

each license is allowed to have two simultaneous activations. just install and activate like you did the the first time. you just are not allowed to use both installs at the same time

I think you can install the software on both machines, but you can not connect 2nd one online when 1st is connected. If your system (Any) is connected with internet you can't use another one. May be then it will say some warning. Otherwise if you are not connected to internet then you can use for unlimited users.

I am pretty sure being on line has got nothing to do with it.

    Two users is not unlimited!

Being online is how CS4 knows you are running it on more than one machine.

Being online has nothing to do with it.

I routinely have both activations running at the same time as I am lazy and dislike waiting for photoshop to boot up. So I have both activations running at the same time.

BTW you can install Photoshop on as many machines as you want you can only activate it on 2 of the machines at one time.

Hmm, I know I've been kicked off before when I was trying to run it on 2 machines. That was probably CS or even before though so perhaps they've lightened up a bit.

You just proved you don't know how activation works.

You activate on line; after that it doesn't matter.

No that was more like Photoshop 6 or 7 before activation.
